We live in a time when our phones constantly deliver breaking news, there are global conflicts, economic uncertainty, technological changes and endless social media updates. The influx of information we are receiving is creating a strain on us. There’s contradicting news from every corner that as informed and as connected as we are as lost and as confused we tend to be. Today it is hard to know what to believe. We are more informed and more connected yet ever more lost. Many people feel increasingly overwhelmed, distracted and emotionally exhausted because of this. Perhaps this is the time to detox from our phones and the media for a while. Perhaps it is time to question what we are being fed in the media and to do our own research and to choose to live authentically in a world that benefits from our confusion and misdirection.
Did we forget that real conversations and being true to oneself is the ultimate form of freedom? Isn’t it time to do our own research and to have our own exploration on what’s happening around us instead of being fed everything from the media? Did we forget how to enjoy life and how to slow down with all the misinformation out there?
